Spring Break 2023 Workshops

This year for Spring break we are partnering with Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF) & ACT Theatre for a week of fun filled activities!

We are having a 3-day Stop Motion Animation Workshop at SIFF, and one Open House & Career day at ACT, all happening during Spring Break: April 10th - 13th!

Stop Motion Animation Workshop at SIFF!

Monday, April 10th - 10:00am - 3:00pm

Thursday, April 13th - 10:00am - 3:00pm

Stop motion is an animated filmmaking technique where pictures are taken of objects as they are moved in small increments, making the objects appear to be moving when the pictures are played back! This stop motion animation workshop will offer youth the opportunity to blend the use of storytelling, technology and clay! From working the camera, to cutting out paper clouds for scenery and molding their own characters from clay, students will get to make their very own Stop Motion Animation Shorts, which will be shown in a "Premier" at the end of the last day, that families are invited to attend!

Open House & Career Day at ACT!!

If you've been part of Red Eagle Soaring's programs in recent years, then you've been to ACT Theatre! Have you ever wanted to explore the whole building? Now is your chance!! Explore ACT’s 8 floors of theater spaces, peek backstage, tour the shops, get inspired by the cool and quirky spaces, and chat with theater professionals from various departments about all the different ways people make a living and a life in the theater! You will also get the chance to meet youth from Act Theatre's Young Core Company!

P.S. There will likely be a pizza party this day!
